Big Brain Ape’s portfolio dashboard gives you a complete picture of your crypto holdings across every chain you use. Whether you want to monitor daily PnL, analyze long-term performance trends, or prepare data for tax reporting, everything you need is in one place.

Portfolio dashboard

When you open the Portfolio tab, you’ll see a real-time snapshot of your financial position:
  • Total portfolio value — the combined USD value of all your holdings across connected wallets and supported chains
  • 24-hour change — how much your portfolio has gained or lost in the last day, shown in both USD and percentage terms
  • PnL chart — an interactive chart displaying your profit and loss over time, with selectable time ranges
  • Holdings breakdown — a list of every token you hold, sorted by value, with individual price, quantity, and allocation percentage
The dashboard refreshes automatically so the figures you see always reflect current market prices.

Adding holdings

Big Brain Ape automatically detects all token balances from any wallet you connect to the app. There’s nothing to configure — the moment you connect a wallet, its holdings appear in your dashboard. If you want to track additional wallets without connecting them (for example, a cold-storage wallet or a whale wallet you follow), you can add them in watch mode. Watch wallets display holdings and activity in your dashboard but cannot initiate trades. See the Watch wallets section below for setup instructions.

PnL tracking

1

Go to the Portfolio tab

Click Portfolio in the main navigation to open your dashboard.
2

Select a time range

Use the time range selector above the PnL chart to choose your analysis window: 24H, 7D, 30D, 90D, 1Y, or All Time. The chart updates instantly.
3

Hover over the chart for a daily breakdown

Move your cursor over any point on the chart to see a tooltip showing the exact portfolio value and PnL for that day. This lets you pinpoint exactly when gains or losses occurred and correlate them with specific trades or market events.

Filtering by token or network

Use the filter controls at the top of your holdings list to drill down into specific positions:
  • Token filter — search for a specific token by name or ticker to isolate its performance
  • Network filter — select a chain (Solana, Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum) to see only the holdings on that network
  • Sort options — sort holdings by value, 24h change, or allocation percentage
Filters can be combined, so you can, for example, view only your Solana-based holdings sorted by 24-hour performance.

Watch wallets

Watch wallets let you monitor any public wallet address without connecting it. This is useful for tracking your own cold-storage wallets, keeping an eye on known whale wallets, or studying the strategies of top traders. To add a watch wallet:
  1. Go to Portfolio → Watch Wallets
  2. Click + Add Wallet
  3. Paste the public wallet address (Solana or EVM)
  4. Give it a label (e.g., “Cold Storage” or “Whale Tracker”)
  5. Click Save
The wallet’s holdings will appear in a separate section of your dashboard. Watch wallets are read-only — you can see balances and transaction history, but no trades can be initiated from them.

Exporting data

Big Brain Ape lets you download a full CSV export of your trade history, which is ideal for tax reporting and personal record-keeping.
1

Open Trade History

Go to the Portfolio tab and click the Trade History sub-tab to view your complete transaction log.
2

Click Export

Click the Export button in the top-right corner of the Trade History panel.
3

Choose a date range

Select the start and end dates for the export. You can choose a preset range (e.g., last tax year) or enter custom dates.
4

Download the CSV

Click Download CSV. The file will include columns for date, token pair, input amount, output amount, fees paid, transaction hash, and chain. Save it to your device for use with tax software.
Your exported CSV is compatible with popular crypto tax platforms including Koinly and CoinTracker. Both services can automatically import the file and calculate your capital gains, losses, and tax obligations. Check each platform’s import guide for instructions on uploading a Big Brain Ape CSV.

Fetching portfolio data via API

If you’re building dashboards, bots, or custom reporting tools, you can pull your live portfolio data programmatically using the Big Brain Ape REST API.
The response includes your current holdings, USD values, and PnL figures for each asset — the same data shown on your dashboard, delivered as JSON. Replace YOUR_API_KEY with a key from Profile → API Access. See the Portfolio API reference for the full response schema and available query parameters.
