# Set Up Price, Volume, and Whale Alerts on Big Brain Ape

> Configure real-time price, volume, and whale movement alerts on Big Brain Ape to stay ahead of the market without watching charts all day.

Big Brain Ape's alert system keeps you informed about the market conditions that matter most to you. Instead of watching charts all day, you can configure intelligent alerts for price movements, volume spikes, large wallet activity, and changes to your own portfolio — then let the platform notify you the moment something important happens.

## Alert types

    Get notified when a token's price moves above or below a target level you define. Useful for catching breakouts, setting entry points, or protecting against drawdowns.

    Trigger a notification when a token's 24-hour trading volume exceeds a threshold you set. Sudden volume spikes often precede significant price moves.

  <Card title="Whale Alert" icon="fish">
    Monitor large wallet activity on specific tokens. Receive an alert whenever a whale wallet buys or sells above a defined transaction size, so you can react before the market does.

    Stay on top of your overall exposure with alerts that fire when your total portfolio value changes by a percentage you specify — up or down.

## Creating a price alert

<Steps>
  <Step title="Go to the Alerts tab">
    Click **Alerts** in the main navigation to open the alerts management screen.

  <Step title="Click + New Alert">
    Click the **+ New Alert** button in the top-right corner to open the alert creation form.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Select a token">
    Search for the token you want to monitor by name or ticker symbol. You can also paste a contract address for tokens not in the default list.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set the condition and target price">
    Choose whether the alert should trigger when the price goes **above** or **below** your target, then enter the target price in USD. For example, set condition to **above** and target price to **\$250.00** to be notified when SOL crosses that level.

  <Step title="Choose a notification channel">
    Select one or more channels for the alert:

    * **Push notification** — in-app and mobile push (if the app is installed)
    * **Email** — sent to the address on your account
    * **Telegram** — delivered via [@BigBrainApeBot](https://t.me/BigBrainApeBot)

  <Step title="Click Save">
    Click **Save** to activate the alert. It will appear in your alerts list with a green **Active** status badge and begin monitoring immediately.

## Managing alerts

Your **Alerts** tab displays all your configured alerts in a list view. From here you can:

* **Enable or disable** an alert by toggling the switch next to it — the alert is preserved but stops firing while disabled
* **Edit** an alert by clicking the pencil icon to update the token, condition, target price, or notification channel
* **Delete** an alert permanently by clicking the trash icon and confirming the action

Triggered alerts are logged in the **Alert History** section at the bottom of the page, so you can review which conditions were met and when.

## Notification channels

| Channel | How to connect |
| - | - |
| **In-app push** | Active by default; enable browser or mobile notifications when prompted |
| **Email** | Uses the email address registered to your Big Brain Ape account |
| **Telegram** | Open [@BigBrainApeBot](https://t.me/BigBrainApeBot), send `/start`, and link your account using the code shown in **Profile → Notifications** |

You can assign different channels to different alerts, or stack multiple channels on a single alert to make sure you never miss it.

## Creating alerts via API

If you want to create and manage alerts programmatically as part of an automated trading workflow, you can use the Big Brain Ape REST API:

Replace `YOUR_API_KEY` with a key generated from **Profile → API Access**. The API supports all alert types — see the full [API reference](/api/introduction) for request schemas and response formats.

  Alert limits depend on your plan. **Free** accounts can have up to **5 active alerts** at a time. **Pro** accounts have **unlimited alerts** across all types and notification channels. You can upgrade your plan from **Profile → Subscription**.
